Animal Log crew held an event in Cinematek Tel Aviv marking 30 years of activism in the animal rights movement. The event included a free vegan buffet, information booths, jugglers, a lecture, and highlights from the "Animal Log" show. In 1975, philosopher Peter Singer's Animal Liberation was published, and is still the central source of inspiration for the animal rights movement today.

Even after the passage of the foie gras ban, geese continue to be force-fed in Israel. Because of this, dozens of animal rights activists entered a goose fattening plant in Moshav Petachia (one of many who continue to operate against the law), refused to disperse, and disturbed the day to day activities of the plant. This was in protest of the continuation of force-feeding, and tied up the hands of the law breakers.

Recently, a new group working for animal rights was founded. The goal of the group is to raise awareness for animal rights, and to end the use of animals in various industries. The group runs information booths, action items, and an internet site where one can go for more details: www.free.org.il.

A new show has come out: "The Leah Goldberg's Mice Show". An animal drag show, it's a hybrid of multimedia, politics, Hebrew literature, and songs from song festivals. The mice chew on corporations, put on and peel off various characters, and unite the depressing candidates to a colorful party of resistance.

A rich, colorful, vegan bar has just opened in "Salon Mazal" in Tel Aviv. The bar is run jointly by a collective of volunteers and its goal is to raise awareness for animal rights, human rights, and ecology. All the food is delicious, vegan, and all the proceeds go directly to animal rights information campaigns and restaurant overhead.

To mark an international day of protest against Proctor & Gamble, animal rights activists broke into the company's offices in Tel Aviv in protest of the company's use of animals to test its products. They refused to willingly disperse until the company committed to end the tests and to stop cruelly using animals like property with no ability to feel pain or suffer.
